Sound Wave Innovation (Head Office: Tokyo; President and CEO, CMO: Hiroaki Shimokawa) is pleased to announce its selection as one of 12 Japan based startups to participate in the first phase of the “J-StarX AI Medical Course” (formerly J-StarX HealthTech Gateway “AI Medical in the US”), a program implemented by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) with the cooperation of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).

Launched in 2024, this acceleration program supports the entry of digital health startups, including those leveraging AI, into the US market. The program provides practical support for overseas expansion in the medical and healthcare fields, helping startups understand region-specific regulations, acquire essential knowledge, formulate strategies, and build evidence. The goal is to foster healthcare startups that can compete on a global scale.

We believe our selection for the J-StarX AI Medical Course is a recognition of our innovative therapeutic ultrasound technology and the significance of our expansion into overseas markets. By leveraging the support provided by this program, we will further strengthen our strategy for the social implementation of medical devices overseas and accelerate the development of our minimally invasive treatment technologies
